Our Story
I had an idea: What would happen if I used a vibrating spring next to a guitar pickup to drive a synthesizer? After all, springs vibrate a lot like strings...
I am a game developer and music producer, and I've been building musical instruments for a long time, but this was a new challenge. After cobbling together the first ResoLute from scrap wood and hand-soldered electronics, I plucked my first ever "ToneSpring", and I knew I had something special. After building a few prototypes, I needed to get an outside opinion, so I visited Keeley Electronics Co. one day and met Mr. Robert Keeley himself—a kindred spirit and the mastermind behind an empire of boutique guitar pedals who would soon become a key mentor and friend. He told me that I had a viable product and I should really go for it.
I acquired woodworking tools one by one until my one-car garage had morphed into a full-fledged workshop, but once production ramped up, I realized I needed more space and better equipment. Anna, my doting wife and fellow creative, allowed me to commandeer the dinner table and essentially half of our home, where I continue to craft ResoLutes in small batches. And now you can get your own here on Kickstarter.
