Meet the ResoLute.

A handmade, patent-pending electronic musical instrument where analog synthesis and physical expression meet through magnetic resonance.

A collection of ResoLute instruments in different colors

The short version

ResoLute is an expressive electronic instrument that plays with the immediacy of a stringed instrument and produces the character of an analog synthesizer. Its physical controls include interchangeable ToneSprings and touch-free AirPicks. Each instrument is built by founder Dano Scarboro in Oklahoma City.

What makes it different

Magnetic resonance

The player interacts with physical resonant elements while analog electronics translate that movement into immediate musical response.

Swappable ToneSprings

Different ToneSprings introduce distinct behaviors—from muted response to tremolo—and can be exchanged with two turns of a nut.

AirPick expression

The AirPick provides touch-free control, expanding the instrument beyond conventional plucking and strumming gestures.

Handmade production

ResoLutes are built in Oklahoma City from solid wood with premium circuit boards manufactured in the USA.

Analog immediacy

The instrument responds without the feel of a menu-driven interface, keeping the player connected to gesture, movement, and sound.

Multiple ways in

Finished instruments and a DIY kit make ResoLute available to performers, sound explorers, builders, and electronic-music enthusiasts.

Founder

Dano Scarboro is the founder, designer, and builder behind ResoLute. Working from Oklahoma City, he developed the instrument around a desire to unite tactile performance with the sonic possibilities of synthesis. He builds every ResoLute by hand and continues to develop new instruments and performance interfaces around that same idea.
